Stockholms Kulturfestival, Sticka 09

Day one

http://svtplay.se/v/1651440/abc/forsta_dagen_pa_kulturfestivalen

On day one it seems I got caught on camera

(A few seconds at the end)

A few seconds of me looking very serious, I took the photo from my pc sreen.

But more importantly the clip show live just how cool the festival is and what's taking place this week:-)

Sergal
This guy crocheting is an advert running for a hotel (I think) I'll double check that, I just thought that it was pretty cool.
Day Two
Kulturfestival 09 fun

Not as loud today(musically) but the stall now officially set up, a few hiccups on day one
(not us! I must add, team Sticka very organised!)

A steady flow of interest through out my shift, of all ages I must mention.

New knitters!!!

1st stop I taught a 19 year old Lad to crochet

(Dam he was fast to learn)

The a young lady how to knit my British way and I didn't want to corrupt her
So we showed her the Swedish way(which she preferred);-)

One elderly lady knitted so fast I couldn't believe my eyes, she could have been
a record breaker......For sure.

The knitted leaves are going down well, but the graffiti W,I,P the most popular, it seems all ages just love the idea.

I really like this idea of something that's been made by many totally organic
A real community effort.

Finally the Uniform
Gunilla's blog, titled day two.
(me again looking very pleased to be there;-)

Fallen fairy
Garden photo opportunity (I took this in England) my friend is currently re-designing her garden and sadly this little glass fairy had fallen room her pole, I have a liking for garden fairy's.

Oh Deer

A deer in my garden, one of my favourite thing about where I live is that every
now and then a deer will visit my garden. It's a built up area but lots of green
gaps on the edge of the city.

Steeling berry's, but who cares..... so delicate with it's perfect white
cotton wool ball tail!

Knitted Chair?

A knitted chair

Or just a chair with some knitting! either way, Funky.

(Just playing with my knit's)

Made with recycled old clothes, not fit for charity.

Queen of Hearts

My VHS dress is staring to win me over, I really haven't been that keen in the making.

It has taken me a while and I have had to strengthen a lot of the dress.

But this heart neck line that I have recently created, is really lovely the

Red and black is such a striking colour combination.

The juxtaposition of the Red cotton on the Dark VHS tape

Random things
1973

A good year, Just a simple conceitedness
I saw this in Stockholm and I have never noticed it before. I have a thing
about numbers, when you see a number that means something special to you.
(My hubby thinks I'm weird) This is my year of birth;-)

Press Byron adventure.

Horse Travel

This was a funny sight, the lady had parked her horse, only in Stockholm.

It's a very horsey place, but this was a first for me.

Just in need of a quick coffee.

You get a bike rack to lock up, but I'm afraid even the most accommodating country doesn't offer a horse rack;-).

Below
What was once Alice!
Not any more...........
Back to the drawing board.
Busy week this week I'm pleased to announce,
Monday, party night Skansen.

Kicking off the Kulturhuset

knit, crochet graffiti. I have happily
volunteered to help out with.(Daily)

To my understanding, Sergal.... lots of knitted/crocheted graffiti and a stall/
stand of some sort.

To show the general public what it is we knitters' crocheter

do. (I think)

I have my plan of action/shifts for the week.

Gunilla my 1st:-)

And then Other ladies that I have possibly/probably met before in the Stockholm

knit cafe scene.

My memory for faces pretty good, name's I'm a disaster.

My knit projects will be on hold this week, VHS pockets to complete.

I have also been sorting out a lot
of my practice knits so that I can donate some stuff to graffiti the city.(plenty)

Un-picked (frogged) still don't like that term!

Some stuff that was stagnant, Alice dress it's progress just annoyed me..........

So I unravelled it, some could say harsh

But I think that sometimes its good to be drastic.

Part finished or just simply bored of, frogged........
Unpicked and made in to Mini balls for future Pom poms.

Just a little knit organisation.

(Re-think)

When my head is simply not in a concentrating mood,
My reason today (To hot!).
It's good to go through your W,I,P's, I don't usually have much unfinished(Honest)
But It seems my standard have slipped, I have accumulated quiet a few recently;-(.

Project plastic duck

new project

Introducing project plastic duck
Plastic duck , gets to the beach wiggling his web feet in the sand if he could.
(if he actually had feet!)
Unfortunately he didn't get a swim as the river was just to wavy and the beach.
It was just too busy!

Plastic duck would have been abducted by a small child/big child.
Or worse still, he could have possibly drowned!

Poetry Society knit Project and others

A crocheted poetry square
Required 12 by 12 inch,4ply and light coloured.
poetrysociety.org.uk
So far so good, the yarn it still a bit splitty, but I'm used to it now and if I make another I Will use another brand of wool (ULL) as I mention before that I was not really impressed with the one I choose. It's taken a while pretty fiddly for me a size 3 hook.
A little poetry

Today's poems titled
I Think I Should Have Loved You Presently
By
Edna St. Vincent Millay

I think I should have loved you presently,

And given in earnest words I flung in jest;

And lifted honest eyes for you to see,

And caught your hand against my cheek and breast;

And all my pretty follies flung aside

That won you to me, and beneath your gaze,

Naked of reticence and shorn of pride,

Spread like a chart my little wicked ways.

I, that had been to you, had you remained,

But one more waking from a recurrent dream,

Cherish no less the certain stakes I gained,

And walk your memory's halls, austere, supreme,

A ghost in marble of a girl you knew

Who would have loved you in a day or two.

Project pockets

Chockladbollen
Quick knit Sunday
Ex knit lab crew......
I crochet the beginning of a quick knit inner, for the pocket part of the VHS dress. I have not had the time yet to see if they worked.
I made two at once and they are still very much a W,I,P

Pocket inner, basic crochet 6.5 hook and I tried to make a free-form half moon shape, hand size.
Really I should have researched pockets 1st.
(Always back to front, my thinking)
I may still have to do that, if these wont fit the gaps that they are needed for.

Pret UK
Stole my I knit pasta idea (kidding!)
I popped in on my trip to UK for a quick coffee but really a trip down nostalgia lane.........
(Home reminder).

I'm not keen really on big brand promotion,LOCAL all the way!.
But I had to get a photo if this, unfortunately I didn't have my camera and this was my phone image. Pretty funny I think that you'll agree
Bruno
Images taken from blog

Sunday night, movie night

Until I went to see the film, I was unaware that his main poster outfit was
in fact knitted.

The film made me Laugh very loud(some a bit to much!)
But this outfit was defiantly one of my favourites. I really think that Sacha B Cohen, is just a very funny guy.

Random ramblings, knit & crochet related.

It's a Fantastic blog name and a great blog banner, so very cool.

She calls her followers stalkers, so I'm really going to be thought of, as dam right stalkerish!........but who cares.

But I really liked this idea of her Banner, and I hope that it was ok to share this;-).

WOOLI
As in wooli jumper!

BLOG Knitted places to live.(literally)
Here one called WOOLI (NSW)
Australia boosting excellent knit artists, even has the coolest place names.
I so want to live there, one day.......

http://www.yfn.com.au/index.cfm?pageCall=content&contentTypeID=14043&menuItemID=4450

I think that I should have a new little spot. Place or street names, if anyone seesa funny street name or place's linked to anything knit crochet yarn related. Then let me know, even take a little pic on the camera phone.
(With out looking like a street sign stalker)

A little humbing bird I know.......Ms Hatton. She said that she had heard of knitting Lane? UK I think I need to get the photo proof and Ill write a future post.
