Blogging to-be or not to-be that is my dilemma

What exciting for 2011

My you tube is exciting, very exciting to think that at the time I took this just before xmas 5000!

Yes Five thousand people have looked at my work.  Pretty amazing;-)

My blog entry not so exciting.........

I guess it's the time, January blue's the slump that follows Christmas.

I have been a strong blogger most of the year
(years now, 2006 when I first dared to blog) But I have hit a wall.

Not as inspired?

To Busy?(I'm doing the stuff just not cataloguing in my usual diary form)

No ummpph

My camera is dust collecting......

I think its not contagious like flu, I'm just having a little sabbatical.

Below twins blanket part 1

The only time a fluffy edging (novel yarn) is cool/for kids touch and feel so very important.

Bellow Sherlock Holmes Cape/not a lot of progress but a ridiculous amount of stitches.

 Arm holes

I have made this in four parts and used crochet to fix the seams that allow for the arms a complete WIP.   I also feel that it had started to look a little like a sack for potatoes but that could just be my state of mind.........

I'm not unpicking(frogging) as it's took so bloody long to get this far/ that and i can not.   And as for all of you who know me well, know that crochet is my thing and unfortunately I do not have a Karin here (my knit guru) who could help me with this amount of stitches.;-(

My equator

My major fault line, dropped a row and so on picking up the stitches I think it was backwards ?

I believe in working with one mistakes.........

Even my edging is going to need a weightier stitch of some sort.

My kids love crochet my dog love crochet, here he is a not so sick (much better) Rasmus, curled up on the sofa.   Where of cousre he's not supposed to be...........Don't tell Ceaser, having a like Cat nap or should it be Dog nap.

This is me Skirt progress below.

Graffiti blog header from my knitting for art exhibition, turned skirt.
Recycle reuse.

Threaded elastic to make a waist band using a daring pin, this was really tough using black yarn as its so hard to see the stitches and the elastic goes in-between so that it can not be noticed unless really stretched.

The front has a gap where the banner was joined to make the skirt this will need a free-form triangle shape to fill the gap.  WIP

Things to-do

Exhibition Woodley Library Feb (Very exciting stuff)

Re applying RGA March.

To blog?
Or not to blog, that is the question......
I really need to kick my blogging blues;-)

Prague, Stockholm and France it's all soooo International

Prague duck release,

And not the traditional release (river) as we where a little pushed for time so
the Hostel/hotel we stayed in had mini water feature, so that's where the duck left the flock. (So to speak)

Prague- This is my second visit to Prague and I absolutely love the place. I went before I came to Stockholm and in my mind I think that the Gothic style of Gamla Stan it kind of reminded me of Prague.(my opinion)

The one word I would use to describe it is Beautiful. Every where you look you see such fantastic architecture. And the Cobbled streets are another favourite of mine
.

That and Beer costs 1 Euro/£1 , Stockholm 75kr ish (Nearly £8.......) Hotel Mosaic (5 day open/5 weeks memory) strongly recommend. Funky and totally modern, one might say "pretty arty" with standing lamps that stand actually hanging from the ceilings in the dinning room.

http://www.mosaichouse.com/ Added plus a bar man looking like Johnny Deep, Pirates Johnny hair not so big, another hotel high light.
Total value for money;-)

Prague Knitted Graffiti
. (Sorry I forgot to write down the destination)

Not Central Prague, more by the river it could have been next to the National Theatre. My memory has never been good!

Stockholm.

Mid Summer's coming and a large May Pole by the palace/2010 love ending.

New Crochet.

New Crocheted Top.

The green yarn is a Chain of crochet and then I threaded it with a needle, I will attach it at the back,
but not sure how.

Not sure Whether it should be hidden or a feature.
Next Threaded a chain of two yarns under the bust part, just for some detail.

That's it so far.

Rasmus trying to knit my wires!

Bag linings

Here is my little production line of bag lining, some of the knit/crochet bags come up so strong that a lining is not always needed. But for some I thought that a lining would look a little bit more professional.;-)

Funny thing is that my hand stitching is not quiet up to my knit standard and it really did look as if a young child had sowed them in.........

I used the sowing machine and old T shirts to make the lining, so that part was easy but the sowing in with out showing or simply neatly was a little bit of a challenge.

So for now ill count the stitches as the tacking and when I return to England my good friend Angela can show me how!!!

France

Unfortunately I have not been recently but this was La-man
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/24_Hours_of_Le_Mans and a car shell designed by
none other than Jeff Koons ( I want one)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeff_Koons

Not a race car any old banger but with this paint
job it's very cool.

THE DUCK MINI MOVIE..............

The first you-tube was simply to show the my idea at the time
(Original!, who knew?). I was a very inexperienced film maker.

This one actaully has a title and end credits, still not exactly experienced but better. I would like this one to be the official ducks release, for my knitted graffiti duck project that launched in 2009.

Lot's cooking in my pot........

Lots cooking
, I just seem to be involved in so much ,

My heads in a bit of a spin.

Some times I wish that I was an underachiever instead of an OVER achiever.

I mean this morning when the 6:30 alarm rang

I felt inspired to write my own knit art book?

(Is that normal?, most think tea or coffee?)

Watch this space..........

It seems the spring is back in my step,

Or though today I'm feeling a little old and sad as my daughter turned 13!

Africa gets sleeves/

my African inspired cardigan, that I hate to say is starting to remind me a little to much

of something Odd molly........

But hey hoe (Quirky saying) we all need inspiration,

"It got sleeves" (Forest Gump saying).

The trouble with having a wobbly broken mannequin

(Rich is going to get to it!)

Is that it leans and my free form got a little longer in the sleeve dept,

but who says that two arms are the same length?

I mean I have one foot bigger than the other?, so maybe that's the same for arm length.

It will come together;-)

Crochet Art

More of my word graffiti...........

It's Art!, of cousre.

I have lots on as I mentioned, but the problem is all alone;-(

I need to get into some more collaborations

or community projects!,

Any one need my help, just please ask:-)

So much to shout about, knit and other.

well worth a peek.

Best until last as they say......

But honesty this is a post packed with talent;-)

Sandra Bucklunds fantastic work(Again)

Something about Sandra work just blows my sock right off!

She really is the number one Top knit personality that I would love to meet.
(if anyone reading this knows her!!! please put a good word in for me;-)

Tilda Swinton, is just so striking, here features make for the perfect model.

This is so futuristic, I love it.

The second top reminded me of the Guggenheim.

(Could it be the inspiration! behind the design, who knows?)

I recently visited the Guggie and I think so.

Do you get that feeling?

When is a knit actually Crochet?

Trick question.............

When it's the word knit, that has been crocheted OF cousre;-)

When is using novelty yarn cool?

When it's teamed with mixed acrylic to make Graffiti!.

Knit

Crochet

What ever.............

Now I sound just like my teenagers.

Mindless stitches, but really fun to do,

Designing the letters and then filling the gaps!

Very addictive.

The green is my New York yarn and actually Wool
(not my usual acrylic)

I love the colour, it work's so well with the navy.

What's that old saying "Blue and green should not be seen........."

It's called Christmas tree green that works;-)

Packaging update

I'm currently working with the day light here
(snowy days can be bright, but also dark)

This amount of detail requires day light.

Attaching the side panels with a cotton yarn crochet chains.

This will be one of my longest projects,

in fact I can not remember when I started it, i'll Google it

And report back on that;-).
