'O' whats occuring, Barry gets a crochet duck.

Duck drop Oct 2011

Wales , Barry Island to be precis..........
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barry_Island_Pleasure_Park
For all the Gavin and Stacey fans no explanation will be needed as to why Barri?, but just in case you have not had that pleasure click below.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gavin_%26_Stacey
I'm not sure Nessa slots, should be this close to the photo of Jack Sprat but he's only little so I think he'll forgive me.

Jack at 18months thought he'd help on the ducklings release date.http://theknittingforartexhibition.blogspot.com/2009/08/crocheted-duckling-trials-continue.html

1st Jack checks the workman ship of my latest duckling , the stitches pass the inspection always attention to detail, just like his father 100%.

This one should float and be completely clean at the same time, seeing it's made of recycled shower puff.
And hes now ready to release the duckling, set it free.

In the duck pic below the duckling appears to be winking,
signaling it's readiness to leave the family pack.
A beautiful little beach the sand is white the sea is
pretty blue and the duck is set down.
At this point I have to pick up the baby and run,
whist taking the photos! of course.

Now that's what I call multi tasking.

The tide had turned, so wet shoes for me.
And the waves washed in.
The duck tipped.
And washed back in again, chicken.........
The duck chuck

Nothing else for it the duck got chucked, chucked not ducked;-)
kind Gem Lou assisted me here.
Oh well! you cant win them all as they say.
Job done , that left time for the arcades, especially the grabber..........

And look what the arcade had to offer, yet more flipping ducks.

I don't see spots, I see ducks!.(better than dead,people so I wont complain)

Broken and bits and bobs crochet.

Blythe Shawl
Popcorn stitch with a vinatge feel.  I added the button to look like a little broach.
1st thing is to be Positive, the shawl I love.  Now the reason for my absence......
Negative.
My poorly pc

Big issues
My little net book, broke. broken bust.
Kaput
Not just under the weather....dead   My clever other half decided to fix
(he's capable)
But with little attention as its mine not his, he lost practically everything
I'd saved, yes pass words, calender all the things that I thought would stay.

Annoyed, an understatement.....if he said I would have memory's sticked them.  God forbid, wrote then down.

Hence no posts, not codes no saved favourite, every single book mark, lost lost.
Lost tonnes, I'm lazy I use the pc memory, now I can't even remember what half the sites where. Huuugggh

No more slow broken pc= fixed fast but pointless as honesty I'm missing all my favourite things.

Incy wincy spider, just thought it would make a funky screen saver.....
and if you look close you'll see what i didn't using the camera to zoom,
we are a few legs missing.
If you would like an original call it a Halloween screen saver send me an e mail and ill send you the original (not the resize)

Art, Knitted.

Covered.

Rasmus

My beautiful portrait I'm an so very pleased.  Fairy whispers artist painted this and I think that she captured him perfectly.  This is his concentrating face.

Above a bit of a risky picture on a quick glance, but be assured its hamless shower puff.

A Crochet Knit Patch Work Dress thats a BIG success.

The dress gets straps a Basque back.
And a sun to shine

Abstract cloud

A Patch Work Crochet Dress

From green fields to the  blue sky and then sun that shone to plastic animals jumping about in the fields.   All on a summers day.

Mary Mary quite contrary this is how her garden grew and grew and grew.

This dress has it all ,it's a huge skirt.   I actually weighed the skirt and it came in at just under half a stone of crochet that's mixed with a little knit.

The blue above delicate knitted rag top that set off with a textured crochet 70's arty sun that make for a great sleeve.

Flowers, above my own below the red an ikea patch that
I had in my bits and bobs draw.

Making a patch and then attaching the patch.

My Plastic chicken had its head chewed!

Naughty Rasmus wanting to be part of my art project.  while I was attaching all  the plastic animals he stole one!

Finished article and a bad I phone pic

No time to complete this properly I finished it roughly at the Out Casts cafe on Wed just gone, So it could be on show for the Jelly fate.........that unfortunately I sadly missed as it was Sunday (gone), but I was very happy in Holland.

Finally I brought something for my house.......

My over sized Stockholm Style lamp shade......chandelier.
Plastic, bright, huge and teamed with beads I love it!

It's like a shop full of sweets , it called to me to buy it! So I did and the best bit was it only took Rich three weeks to put it up! I'm one lucky lady.

70's Crochet an Oxfam Bargain.

70's not only my favourite era for furniture, huge passion for chairs.
The fashion,the music Abba.
It is also my favourite era for crochet.
Patch work!
(Another of my goals to learn in life)
Retro 70's all the way.........

I picked up this little gem at £2.99 in my local book store (Oxfam)

Rite van der Klip , what a funkyl A-r-t-i-s-t-s title.

1975

Door Beads (I spent a little time) last year trying to find those fly plastic strips that you get for door frames, keeping out the bugs, E bay eventually.
Needed for my out side shed (AKA) Art studio;-)
Why didn't I think to make some........New project

Free-form 70's known then as Free crochet.
What a cool Tree!

Free crochet a little exert of explanation and below the window decoration.
Nets the whiter whites of the 80's verses the home made multi coloured of the 70's!

I know which I would have rather had.

In fact I just made some for my art shed, using some vintage doily that I recently purchased.

Staple gun and some similar doily's ,dye optional.... job done;-)

Teenagers Bed Room

Yes that really is a crochet guitar and record (Vinyl)
Plastic (70's) not so good but things lasted unlike today.
Just when you think that you thought of something new, its always been done before.

This week I have been MOSTlY creating....

This week I have been mostly creating a Huge Blog Post.

I hope that you have 10 minutes spare instead of the required 5 and more importanblty a huge cup of Tea or a rather large mug of coffee.;-0

Begin........(Pee stop?) best to be comfortable before commencing to my long catch up week.
 Mary Mary takes shape
I have began the trask of stitching together some of the textile sasmples that I have created.  The grass/feild skirt is the start and I am really enjoying fitting the pices like a giant jig saw puzzle.

I am also already thinking about where to exhibit. I was kindly offered a place at the Henley Arts Festival (HAT) Knit shop.  But at a price and I really feel that I can exhib for free, after all the dress will be ART to inspire and not for sale, so to pay to promote it really didnt make sense at this time.

Acrylic here, acrylic there... there really is acrylic every where.......

Here are some of the shapes and texture that I have created.
It's a mixture of yarns I'm not a yarn snob and yes a lot is acrylic which I really love, as it means that I get to create vast project at little cost.;-)

Farm Animals
As luck would have it I found a huge bag of them in oxfam and these are just what I needed to complete my grass part of the dress.

I mean I would love for some home made (Alan Dart) if  your reading my blog./ type of knitted sheep to add to my project.   But as it goes little animal knits I'm not up to making.

So feel free to pass on to me if you have any that I can add to my vast skirt.

Big project/ graffiti knitters Stockholm

http://stickkontakt.blogspot.com/

Walk this way.....

The translation is rough taken from there blog/me helping a little with one of the Stockholm graffiti knit group.

Stickkontakt, here goes my mini translation

Jack is guilty of a massive virkvåg (crochet) which is at its hottest in the Stockholm area but also extends beyond its borders with countries such as England and Germany. Hazardous chunks of virkverk in early May to be transported into Denmark, hoisted up with lift
and installed at higher elevations.

The result is to beholding to you all summer as part of Walk This Way, an international street art exhibition in Køge. Read more at

http://www.koes.dk/index.php?id=447423

Google translate was very helpful here.

 Basically
Street art involving huge truck/harbour.   That will be part covered by knit and crochet.
In my true style I had a box ready to go.....
Ironically Home Sweet Home graffiti has headed back to stockholm , where it will travel with Stickkontakt to Denmark.

Who knows maybe ill get a to plan a mini break to the opening;-)

 Recycle recycle

What was once a crocheted bin, is now a plant pot.

 Above and below
(Some things I have recently found whilst surf the Knit high way)

Knitted Textile Awards Showcase 2010
(I took the text from the web site above/unforgivable, I missed the name?)

The aim of my project is to create Techno-Gothic fashion. This style has both Techno and
Gothic elements. When these elements are combined together, I believe a new style can be
created. To express this style, I have used hand crafted and digital techniques. As my
garments are both hand and digitally manipulated, I believe they appeal to a customer
who appreciates the dramatic impact created by the fusion of Techno-Gothic. My garments
are designed for musicians and performers who have the confidence to wear dramatic styles

Below Pants

 http://whatnottocrochet.wordpress.com/2011/02/07/practical/
The exert below is taken from this very entertaining blog above.

The blog title where this beauty was found reads: “Crochet, Comfortable & Practical for Girls”. Where to begin exactly? Yikes. Not sure how comfortable or practical this design would be given the lumps and bumps the tampons would create under a  pair of pants or skirt but  then again, who would notice, right? Insert sarcastic smirk here.

All that I could think about was VPL? more like VPTL
 (Visible pant tampon line)
And finally before you have fallen to sleep.......

A knitted Prince William and Kate.
A little bit of Royal Jolly.
