Long dress - ruffles

It's finally Long enough now, it's crochet 5mm, knit ,crochet, knit all on a 15mm needles or hook, so now part two that is adding the ruffles.

To get the effect required I will have to crochet on the out side of the knitting.

I think in a bright yarn, as I want the structure as if an out side skeleton.

Crochet on top of knit defiantly gives a bone like structure. This
as well as the ruffles should make for an interesting effect.

Vintage crochet hooks
My cotton reel crochet

A gift

From Angela, a late birthday to encourage me to crochet more delicately, a beautiful box of vintage crochet hooks.

Funny thing was I had already begun a small peice (may it be said delicate) crochet. As I couldn’t take the dress every where.

That’s the cotton reel knit above.

A little Dedication
To Angela, Well done on completing your degree (1stwithg honours for sure) Your cat walk final collection was just inspirational. And for sure, I could have hand picked it out of the hundreds.

You are a delicate me/or I am large scale “in your face” you!

(Chicken or the egg?)

Soooooooo International knitting

For the skirt part a mass amount of up and down.......then more up and down!;-(
Seemed forever until the end was incite.
Up close and personal with an air craft, train, bus, car knit

International knit/crochet

New York/Sweden/England and then France, you can’t get much more international than that. A vast amount of inspiration as each country is so different, So a confusing...........so lets just say my style.

Business class, return knit!(well crochet)

It looks like a teddy bears ear (But actually it's a sleeve)
Free form that I completed on the trip out to New York, once I had lost my stitch. (well actually I'd gained one?)
Work that One out!, But any way it ended up with a gaping hole in, that's the project that Karin fixed and that I am knitting along side this one.

Textured crochet
My free form on the return trip home turned into a sleeve and the dress I have worked on from their.
Again a mix of colour and texture, the colour scheme is maybe a little wintry, but it's the remainder of my stash.
And to be honest the weather is a little chilly so this doubles up as a mini blanket. When I'm sat knitting on my patio which currently seems to be the only place that I can with my puppy Rasmus, any where else he attacks it but the patio he likes to lay out on thus leaving my knitting balls alone.

Long haul knit (This week I 've been mostly?)

Karin at Knit lab fixed it!(I new she could;-)
God knows what I did, but seeing it was knitting on a round I could just picture all my hours of knitting coming un- done.
So off I go again, round and round the dress is defiantly growing.
Almost from top to toe.
Couldn't even see where the mistake was to take a picture close up!

Long Haul

Long haul New York, New York

I guess I’m unusual in the fact that I love long haul, not with my kids but alone it’s just an excellent opportunity to get a huge amount of knitting in. No stopping for any jobs (like at home) so uninterrupted that even your food gets brought to you.

Mind you watching a movie at the same time made for a big knit slip and its on the round needles so I am just hoping one of my knit café knitter can fix it.;-)

Picture's so far my ruffle dress well the base and then my crochet Free form.

A good tip from Danielle is that as you are not aloud scissors but you are aloud dental floss, use the cutting part for your yarn breaks.

Ruffle dress

Project ruffle is growing! not quite enough yet.

Currently working in getting the length, ready to pull in with the crochet. Crochet light grey then knitted black, crochet dark grey and Ill finish with a cream knitted bottom part. Red will be the colour that I will use to crochet over the top to get the ruffled effect. This morning cafe 60 was the dark grey crochet;-)

Then a walk home and yet more poster I put up to promote the knit lab exhibition, becoming a poster and flyer expert.

Knit lab, Exhibiton

Here is a picture of me
(I'm in the back ground, just where I like to be when It comes to photo's)

Karin (Ecuador) from knit lab sent it to me, and I'm really pleased as I liked my out fit, but In my family I'm the one that always takes the photo's.
So there are never very many of me.

The skirt and scarf I designed and made.
And my young model is wearing the dress I designed for Paris Hilton, I'm sure she would just love the plastic Ikea hama beads instead of Swarovski crystals.;-)

A,W,I,P

A big project, that I guess you can see by the size of my needles. Lots of colours, yarns and textures. Just how I like to work.
I'm thinking along the lines of a red carpet/the Oscar award's, that type of wow dress.
But Instead of D&G or Gucci or Prada, it will be an Alison Friday. I just need to work on the celebrity that I want to wear it.......
I'll add that to my thing's to do list!

Lots or recycling will be going on to crate this project, odd's and ends that I have been given thanks karin ;-)

Blog spot

Have a look at this blog
http://gunillasstickblogg.blogspot.com/2008/05/happy-day.html

I'm a week late with this posting. As for some reason my e mail spammed this mail.
A knit cafe friend Gunilla, posted this on her blog and I thought that was really kind.

Thanks again

New touch

$ store ribbon
A nice and easy touch, pretty in pink.
A crocheted bag that I designed and made from garden string.(Sizzle)

Baby Pastels

Almost Ice cream...........
So far
This is where I am with the baby pastels top, the stitch technique is new. I wanted to make a dress but the circle that I thought would be big enough! once pulled it in with crochet it wasn't it's enough for a top only.

I got the bumpy effect that I wanted
(It's almost a ruffle, very key this season)
Then I had some odd ends of yellow cotton that I used to put the neck and arm holes in, ready to attach the sleeve part.(W,I,P)
Crochet using an 8 mm hook, then attached to the bust part.

But I'm already starting on the next attempt. The circle I felt needs to be doubled to get the effect I require.
So this time I 'am going to
knit on a round adding a stitch each time that I go around so the circle gets bigger, bigger and even bigger.
(using the same technique's before to create the circle)
