Trusty Uggs get a needed revamp.

My poor old Ugg's really needed some TLC.   They are old, so I wouldn't recommend the machine wash part to anyone with new ones(your risk

But seeing mine have nearly had there day and that my original pinky white cutom edging is now almost as Gray as the boots.

I decided to un-pick  (The added by me edge) and then wash the boots.
(project fingers crossed they came out ok)
Before giving them a new lease of life;-)

This lovely red from my stash, perfect.

Using a size 4 and 3 hook, I added a simply crochet chain.

Then customised one of my old flower's that was in my knit bit box added a red edging.

Library Art

Below a little of the Art that will be at the Library, the project is now in full swing and I'm cramming to get all the knitting done that I set my self as a target.

My mantra for the family, whist I'm trying to get all the art done that simply in my family just doesn't ever get taken seriously........they sooner dinner and a tidy house, it feels;-(

Sirdar Designers & Cup Cakes.

Sirdar Designers and Cup Cakes........

Coils, coils ,coils it's currently a huge production line.
(Work force myself)

They are needed to hang from trees, I figured the acrylic coils will weather well and at the same time spin in the wind. That's my plan (watch this space)

A night away so a Train trip.

Reading to Yorkshire (Barnsley) to be exact.  My good friend had moved away and begun her dream job and I was honoured to be her plus one for a late Xmas do with none other than the complete Sirdar work force:-)

Oh yes she is officially Sirdar knit wears newest designer!
(hush incase thats a sercet)

Oj oj oj.

The quirky little place fits the quirky little person, just heaven.

Always one for enjoying methods of transport that mean I can make Crochet in mass.  Completed , my scarf and boulder cover number four.

My library project is rocking.....

I think I might not have mentioned this yet but come February my art will be all over the  Woodley library.

Blog entry Library project
http://theknittingforartexhibition.blogspot.com/2011/01/project-decorate-woodley-library.html
The centre court yard, secret garden will be a shining exhibition of crochet graffiti, incorporating my ducks.  Not foreign waters, but water all the same.

My tumble dryer broke at xmas, sadly unrepairable.
( I know not Very PC, but its a luxury I allow)
And we got a new one, but no time to fit it.  So it's become a shelf to stack yet more knitting goods.  (project Library)

Photo from phone of part of a boulder cover, that's train crochet.

Cup cakes galore at the Elsecar Heritage Centre

Shop stop Ania's Cup Cakes, my choice lemon.  texture of sponge fab, icing a lot but that's the plus of a cup cake.  My disappointment was that the only thing about the cake that was actaully flavoured lemon was the little sweet on top.

I would recommend some jif lemon( a little goes along way)  to the icing and the sponge but the presentation and content was great, just as it should be.....

Just add more lemon;-)

How to make a coiled Scarf in an hour. Simple

Scarf

Three balls of yarn ,your choice.

100 chain

Count four stitches in......

Two double crochet.

Next chain loop start !

Four doubled crochet, in each stitch.

You can Twist as you go this makes the end product easuier as the twist is already done.

The hour makes the coil I then added a chain row to widen scarf  the edging is extra time.

Waa laaa
Job done
(sounding a little like Jamie Oliver "Wham Bosh bash "a wearable scarf and no hassle)

Blogging to-be or not to-be that is my dilemma

What exciting for 2011

My you tube is exciting, very exciting to think that at the time I took this just before xmas 5000!

Yes Five thousand people have looked at my work.  Pretty amazing;-)

My blog entry not so exciting.........

I guess it's the time, January blue's the slump that follows Christmas.

I have been a strong blogger most of the year
(years now, 2006 when I first dared to blog) But I have hit a wall.

Not as inspired?

To Busy?(I'm doing the stuff just not cataloguing in my usual diary form)

No ummpph

My camera is dust collecting......

I think its not contagious like flu, I'm just having a little sabbatical.

Below twins blanket part 1

The only time a fluffy edging (novel yarn) is cool/for kids touch and feel so very important.

Bellow Sherlock Holmes Cape/not a lot of progress but a ridiculous amount of stitches.

 Arm holes

I have made this in four parts and used crochet to fix the seams that allow for the arms a complete WIP.   I also feel that it had started to look a little like a sack for potatoes but that could just be my state of mind.........

I'm not unpicking(frogging) as it's took so bloody long to get this far/ that and i can not.   And as for all of you who know me well, know that crochet is my thing and unfortunately I do not have a Karin here (my knit guru) who could help me with this amount of stitches.;-(

My equator

My major fault line, dropped a row and so on picking up the stitches I think it was backwards ?

I believe in working with one mistakes.........

Even my edging is going to need a weightier stitch of some sort.

My kids love crochet my dog love crochet, here he is a not so sick (much better) Rasmus, curled up on the sofa.   Where of cousre he's not supposed to be...........Don't tell Ceaser, having a like Cat nap or should it be Dog nap.

This is me Skirt progress below.

Graffiti blog header from my knitting for art exhibition, turned skirt.
Recycle reuse.

Threaded elastic to make a waist band using a daring pin, this was really tough using black yarn as its so hard to see the stitches and the elastic goes in-between so that it can not be noticed unless really stretched.

The front has a gap where the banner was joined to make the skirt this will need a free-form triangle shape to fill the gap.  WIP

Things to-do

Exhibition Woodley Library Feb (Very exciting stuff)

Re applying RGA March.

To blog?
Or not to blog, that is the question......
I really need to kick my blogging blues;-)
